Thoughts from Tarnagulla - blog.

Ebcot is an outlet for ideas sprouting from Brad Calvert's mind (not much), or ideas that come to my attention and seem interesting, worthy or completely silly. I really like The World Institute of Slowness, Slow Movement and The Slow Bicycle Movement. Bearing these facts in mind, don't expect things to happen too quickly here. Tarnagulla should aim to become a slow city, well maybe city is stretching things, but certainly a slow town is a real possibility.

The Tap-grabba™ is a handy device for making garden taps easier to turn off and on. Made from recycled redgum fenceposts, they should see us all out.

Tap-grabba™ information

Ebcot seeks to promote techniques for durable, practical and comfortable buildings that:

- have low energy requirements at the construction stage

- low energy consumption during the life of the building

and, when the building is not required:

- allow the building to be disassembled with reuse of materials.

These objectives can at times be contradictory, click on the links above (coming soon) to see discussion of each item.

Why Tarnagulla? Tarnagulla is a small town with exisiting infrastructure, typical of many small rural towns in Australia.

Revitalisation of existing small towns is a preferable alternative to urban sprawl encroaching on prime agricultural land or bushland.
